Add Notes from Slack to Incidents

We’re excited to announce our new Slack Notes feature! You can now add important notes directly from Slack to your incidents, making it easier to document critical information without leaving your communication hub.

  • Select Add notes from More actions dropdown in your incident’s Slack channel
  • Type your note and submit it
  • The note automatically appears on your Spike dashboard for that incident

This seamless integration helps your team capture valuable context, decisions, and updates during incidents without switching between tools. Keep all your incident documentation in one place while collaborating in Slack!

Missed call alerts

If you miss a phone call or direct message alert from Spike, you’ll now receive a missed call notification on the Spike mobile app. Additionally, if there are any issues delivering alerts via SMS, WhatsApp, or Telegram, the alert will also be sent to your mobile app.

This feature is enabled by default on your account.

You can now customize voice preferences for your phone call alerts, choosing between male and female voices and adjusting the speech speed. This is particularly useful for teams with diverse global responders, as it allows them to select the voice and tempo that best suits their language preferences, listening clarity, or urgency level.

On-Call Shift Alerts on Discord

We’ve added on-call shift alerts for Discord, making it easier to stay informed about your schedule right where your team communicates.

Receive on-call shift alerts via Discord when:

∟ Your shift starts
∟ Your shift ends
∟ There’s a handoff to another team member

You can use an existing Discord integration or set up a new one to start receiving notifications.

We’re introducing Updown.io integration with Spike—so you can stay ahead of website downtime and performance issues with real-time alerts.

Receive alerts via Phone Calls, SMS, Slack, MS Teams, and more whenever:

Spike is now available on Freshdesk's marketplace as a partnered integration. If you’re using Freshdesk for support, you can now seamlessly link it with Spike to bring your support and operations teams closer.

With this integration, you can: ∟ Create new incidents directly from Freshdesk tickets.

∟ Link existing incidents to keep everyone on the same page.

∟ Sync incident status updates—when an incident is acknowledged or resolved in Spike, it updates in Freshdesk automatically.

∟ Add notes from Freshdesk for better context and coordination with the on-call team.

Replace on-call user with overrides

Introducing a highly requested improvement to on-call management on Spike: User-Specific On-Call Overrides.

Previously, setting overrides for a specific person’s shifts over an extended period required adding multiple overrides manually. It worked, but we knew it could be better.

When adding an override, you can replace an individual’s on-call shifts for a specific time period in one go. Whether it’s for a few days or a couple of weeks, managing on-call schedules has never been this simple.

  1. Press O or click Override from on-call page

  2. Select the user whose shifts you want to override.

  3. Define the replacement user and the time period.

  4. Save, and Spike will handle the rest—automatically adjusting all affected shifts.

  1. Deepa replaces Steven from 1st Jan to 15th Jan while Steven is on leave.

  2. Raj replaces Neha for night shifts from 5th Feb to 10th Feb.

  3. Anjali steps in for Ravi for weekend coverage on 12th and 13th March.

  • /create-incident lets you create new incidents from Slack. Access is open to everyone in your workspace!

  • /oncall lets you create new incidents from Slack. Access is open to everyone in your workspace!

  • You can escalate an incident from Slack

  • and you can create dedicated channels for incidents

There is also increased privacy for Private channels in escalations. Only members of the private channel can view and interact.
