What is Discord?
Discord alerts land in the channel your team already watches. Spike uses Discord’s native webhooks to post every incident into a channel of your choice — there is no bot or app to install, just a webhook URL.
Because it is webhook-based, Discord is a notification channel: you can’t acknowledge or resolve an incident from the message itself. When an alert appears, click through to Spike — or use phone, SMS, Slack, or any of your other alert channels — to acknowledge it, escalate it, and resolve it. Discord makes sure the whole team sees what’s happening; Spike is where the incident actually gets worked.
How to set up Discord alerts
Every Spike.sh integration is a unique webhook URL. Paste it into Discord and alerts start flowing — no agents, no code.
Step 1: Create a webhook in Discord
In your Discord channel, open Settings → Integrations → Webhooks, create a new webhook named “Spike”, and copy its URL. You can set the Spike badge as the webhook avatar if you like.
Step 2: Add the webhook to Spike.sh
In your Spike.sh dashboard, open Integrations and choose Discord. Paste the webhook URL and save — Spike sends a test message to confirm the channel is connected.
Step 3: Add Discord to your escalation
Add Discord as a step in the escalation policy that handles your alerts, so incidents post to the channel the moment they trigger.
