Create Jira Cloud tickets from your incidents
Spike connects to Jira Cloud so any incident can become a tracked Jira ticket — filed by hand from the incident's Quick actions, with its status and metadata forwarded automatically so nothing gets lost after the fire is out.
File a Jira ticket from an incident's Quick actions
What you can do
Everything the Jira Cloud integration does
Create a ticket from any incident
From an incident's Quick actions, click “Create ticket on Jira Cloud” and file it as a new Jira issue without leaving Spike.
Fill in just the essentials
Give the ticket a title and an optional description, then choose the Jira workspace, project and issue type before you submit.
Status and metadata come along
When Spike creates the ticket it forwards the incident's status and metadata to Jira, so the issue lands with context already attached.
Open to your whole team
Once the integration is connected, every team member in your account can raise Jira tickets from Spike — no per-user setup.
Connect once, no webhook or code
Authenticate Jira from the Integrations page and grant Spike permission to create tickets. That single step is the whole setup.
Why file Jira tickets from your incidents?
When the firefighting stops, the real work moves to Jira — the root-cause write-up, the fix, the follow-up planning. Spike’s Jira Cloud integration files it into your hosted Atlassian project straight from the incident: raise a Jira Cloud ticket in one click from the incident’s Quick actions, without switching tabs or copying details across by hand.
Creating a ticket is quick: give it a title, add an optional description, and choose the Jira workspace, project and issue type. Spike sends the incident’s details outbound to Jira as the ticket is created — its status and metadata are forwarded so the issue lands with context already attached. And because access isn’t gated, every team member in your account can raise Jira tickets from Spike once the integration is connected.
Set up the Jira Cloud integration
Connect Jira Cloud once, then turn any incident into a Jira ticket from its Quick actions — pick a project and issue type and file it. No webhook, no code.
Step 1: Connect Jira Cloud
In Spike, open Integrations and find the Jira Cloud integration. Click Connect to authenticate with Jira and grant Spike permission to create tickets.
Step 2: Open an incident's Quick actions
On any incident details page, find the Quick actions panel and click “Create ticket on Jira Cloud” to open the ticket form.
Step 3: Fill in the ticket and create
Give the ticket a title, add an optional description, then pick the workspace, project and issue type and submit. The incident's status and metadata are forwarded automatically.
That's it — Jira alerts now page whoever is on call.
