Get phone and SMS alerts fromNew Relic
New Relic monitors your entire software stack — application performance, infrastructure, logs, and browser metrics — and raises alerts when a policy's conditions are violated. Spike.sh turns every New Relic alert into an incident and reaches the on-call engineer by phone, SMS, Slack, or email, escalating through the rotation until it is acknowledged.

I use New Relic for monitoring and Spike.sh for on-call and incident management. Walk me through connecting them: create a New Relic integration in Spike.sh, copy its webhook URL, and add that webhook to New Relic alert settings. Then help me send a test alert to confirm incidents show up in Spike.sh.
What is New Relic?
New Relic is a full-stack observability platform built to help engineers analyse, troubleshoot, and optimise their software from one place — spanning application performance monitoring, infrastructure, distributed tracing, logs, and real-user metrics. Its alert policies watch those signals and open violations when a condition, such as an APM error rate or a slow response time, is breached.
Left in New Relic, a violation is an email or an in-app notification that is easy to miss outside working hours. Connected to Spike.sh through a webhook channel, the same violation becomes an incident: it phones and texts the engineer on rotation the moment it opens, escalates to the next responder in line when it sits unacknowledged, and groups repeat violations from the same policy into one incident instead of a barrage. Because Spike.sh reads New Relic’s recovery signal, the incident resolves itself as soon as the violation clears — your timeline stays accurate and nothing needs a manual close.
How to set up New Relic alerts
Every Spike.sh integration is a unique webhook URL. Paste it into New Relic and alerts start flowing — no agents, no code.
Step 1: Create a New Relic integration in Spike.sh
In your Spike.sh dashboard, open Integrations and choose New Relic. Spike.sh generates a unique webhook URL for this integration — copy it.
Step 2: Add a webhook notification channel in New Relic
In New Relic, open Notification channels from the left menu and create a new channel of type Webhook. Paste the Spike.sh webhook URL into the Base URL field.
Step 3: Use the provided payload and attach a policy
Paste the custom JSON payload from Spike.sh exactly as shown — editing it can break how incidents are parsed — then save the channel and attach it to an alert policy. Violations open incidents in Spike.sh that auto-resolve when the condition clears.
That's it — New Relic alerts now page whoever is on call.
