In 2024, we focused on operating at a very high speed. Every week was a lot of tiny releases, meeting with users, fulfilling user requests and focusing on simplicity. Still an incredibly small team (< 10) but tons of releases.

2025 is going to be great but before that let's glance on the year gone.

Some interesting stats

Deployment Statistics

We deployed 691 times to production in 2024, averaging approximately 2 deployments per day.

Most Newly Created Integrations

This year, we observed a significant increase in AWS integrations at Spike. Here are the most added integrations:

  1. AWS
  2. Azure
  3. Email
  4. Datadog

Spike alerted of incidents more than ever before! it sent over 165,000 alerts last year, averaging 1 alert every 3.2 minutes, a sharp improvement from 1 alert every 15 minutes the previous year.

To put it into perspective, if a single engineer handled every alert, they’d need to resolve 450+ incidents every day — with no vacations allowed! Spike also successfully delivered alerts to users across 30+ countries, including Chile, Serbia, and Macau.

A surprising rise in Whatsapp alerts the past year. Slack is not surprising :)

Alert Breakdown by Channel:

  • Slack: 30,000 (up from 3rd place)
  • WhatsApp: 25,500 (up from 4th place)
  • Phone: 24,500 (no change)
  • Microsoft Teams: 15,000

Incidents in Numbers

Critical alerts tripled in 2024, rising from 3,000 to 9,200. However, the total number of incidents year over year remained steady. Teams are improving their understanding of true incidents and fine-tuning alerts to work better for them.

Critical alerts 3x in 2024
  • New incidents: 2,222,000
  • Suppressed incidents: 1,439,000
  • Repeated incidents: 54,000
  • Automatically resolved incidents: 132,000
  • 🔥 Critical incidents: 9,200 (3,000 last year)

On-Call in Numbers

Nearly 30% of on-call overrides were added during the Christmas and year-end breaks, which comes as no surprise!

  • Total shifts rotated: 53,000
  • On-call overrides: 8,000
